KELOWNA: Annual Fire Extinguisher Inspections

Hi everyone, here is some helpful info on completing required annual fire extinguisher inspections.

Hello,

For those of you who use Canada Safety Equipment Ltd. on St. Paul Street in Kelowna for your annual extinguisher inspection, I wanted to let you know that they will be moving in May or June to 105-171 Commercial Drive in Kelowna.

A reminder that fire extinguishers that are new and up to 6 years can be checked annually for a cost of $10 at this establishment.

KELOWNA – COPCS Workshop Announcement – Sep. 23rd

The Central Okanagan Professional Caregivers Society is hosting a half-day workshop titled Understanding Dementia (see below, and attached bulletin) free for home share providers.  Contact Margaret for registration – seating is limited!

The purpose of this training is to build awareness and educate Home Share Providers, Family and Community Care Partners on Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia.  After completing the training, participants should have a better understanding of the disease, its stages, how communication is affected and how to respond to behaviour.  Both men and women can live with this disease in their 70’s, 60’s, 50’s and even 40’s.  “People with dementia who can remain engaged and active are able to enjoy a good quality of life,” says CEO of the Alzheimer’s Society of BC.

The workshop will be held on Friday, September 23rd from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Landmark 4 Building in Kelowna.

There is limited seating, so please RSVP as soon as possible.

Unfortunately the Trauma Care in Home Share workshop scheduled for Monday, September 12, 2016, has been cancelled.

The workshop scheduled on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, in Cranbrook will be taking place as scheduled.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this change may cause!  We hope to offer this workshop in Castlegar at a future date.
