Do you or someone you know or support want to travel, but need some help with planning for the airport?
It turns out talking to your airport and your airline are great places to start!
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has partnered with several organizations to offer help, resources, and support to people who may need a bit of help to plan their travel:
- Spinal Cord Injury BC – partners to make a series of videos to support using a wheelchair when travelling
- Canucks Autism Network – partners to make a resource kit and series of videos to help individuals and families minimize travel barriers, including the Autism Access Sticker (expedited airport processes)
To participate in the Autism Access Sticker program, you can talk with your airline when you check in. You can call the airport or go on their website to learn more about how they are supporting people to travel (https://www.yvr.ca/en/passengers/navigate-yvr/accessibility-at-yvr/accessibility-travel-planning)
