Great News! Comic book author pens “Fire Engine Red”

Most of us have dreams about what we want to be when we grow up.  This is a piece of Great News! about someone we know who is making their dream a reality!

You can check out two feature articles (see below) that were recently published by Castanet and Okanagan Edge about George Michail, who is a local Community Living BC employee who works with adults who have developmental disabilities.

In addition to his work supporting people with disabilities, George is also the author of Fire Engine RedFire Engine Red is a comic book series about a female firefighter – and wow! does this story ever sound neat!  George says the story is “inspired by 80s and 90s action movies” (think Die Hard) but that it’s also “more than just mindless action.”

And the best part?  George is only $800 away from his goal of raising $5,000 through Kickstarter to publish the first issue!

Way to go, George.  We can’t wait to read about Red’s adventures.
