Community for All Ages Stakeholder Workshop The City of Kelowna and Interior Health have partnered to develop a Healthy City Strategy, a long-term, integrative plan that focuses on healthy places and spaces, community health, and quality of life for all Kelowna residents. Community planners and public health practitioners are working together with a focus on the first of six theme areas: A Community For All Ages. This project is focussing on seniors, children and those with diverse abilities to work towards the vision of “a city that is healthy, safe, active & inclusive for seniors, children and those with diverse abilities”. As a stakeholder that represents one of more of these groups (seniors, children or diverse abilities), the City and Interior Health invite one representative from your organization to participate in the upcoming stakeholder workshop: |

Please note: If more than one representative would like to participate, please let me know and we can put an additional person on the waitlist. Once we know the number of people wanting to participate, we will let you know if there is room for additional participants. At this workshop we will discuss ideas around health, neighbourhoods, activities and daily life. The outcomes of this workshop will be integrated with public consultation feedback to inform the creation of the Community for All Ages Plan. The Community for All Ages Plan will identify areas to adapt policies, plans, and programs to respond to the evolving needs of our community. Actions for healthier seniors will provide co-benefits to children and residents with diverse abilities, enabling them to be active and engaged within our community. For details on the public engagement and more details on this project, please see the Fact Sheet or visit kelowna.ca/planningprojects (click on Healthy City Strategy). Background information: Hope you are able to participate at the workshop! Thank you, Michelle Kam |
