Emergency Funding

Hey everyone, in case you missed this important message from Brian about the emergency funding recently announced by CLBC:

Please see this news release from CLBC regarding the emergency fund set up for home share and residential services. Good news in that we know the additional strains that this Coronavirus response has put on Home Share Providers.

If you have a need that meets the criteria in the news release, please contact your Home Share Coordinator with the agency who will pass on the request to CLBC.

Cranbrook: Supply Suggestion!

If you have a supply suggestion, let us know!

Hey everyone, we know that some key supplies have been tough to come by lately -one of our amazing Service Coordinators(thanks, Lindsay!) passed along a supply suggestion today for us to share:

A social media post late last Friday said that Home Hardware in Cranbrook is trying to bring in more hand sanitizer, Lysol wipes, and surgical masks. If you are in need of these supplies, you might want to give them a call at 250-426-6288 and see what products they currently have on hand.

Your social distancing reminder of the day…

Hey everyone, it is more important than ever that we protect ourselves and others by staying a 2m distance away.

Staying active is important for everyone to be healthy, too! Just because you’re “social distancing” doesn’t mean you can’t participate. Some fitness businesses are streaming classes online for free.

There are many fun and active things to do that connect us safely with others – like calling up a friend and putting on some music to dance or sing to! Why not belt out a tune, or get up and boogie the next time you’re on FaceTime?

More Income and Disability Assistance…

Hey everyone, Castanet is reporting that the B.C. government is increasing the monthly amount that people on income and disability assistance receive to help them with COVID-19.

If you are not eligible for the federal government’s emergency support programs, or if you are a low-income senior, you will get an automatic $300 monthly for three months starting this month (April). Benefits will not be reduced for those who qualify for the $2,000 Canada Emergency Response Benefit.
