Hey everyone, today is National Indigenous Peoples Day – and it’s the 25th anniversary of celebrating Indigenous Peoples on June 21st each year. *Last week we posted some ideas to help find opportunities to participate in National Indigenous History Month, check it out for ideas to celebrate today– and look in the comments section of that post for local events!

In advance of National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, 2021, let’s celebrate the heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of First Nations in BC, with a special focus on entrepreneurs and small businesses!
This webinar will cover how Indigenous businesses reflect Indigenous worldviews, cultural values, and ways of life. We will play, explore, and share some of our favourite examples.
Join Erika Doehring, Gwich’in granddaughter and together we will foster community, celebrate Indigenous peoples and our successes, and highlight how Indigenous businesses thrive in diversity.
Hey everyone, one of our awesome employees passed along a great resource with online training about concussions provided through the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit (BCIRPU) here. It’s called the Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT), and it includes educational modules and resources developed for different perspectives (i.e. taking training as a medical professional, as a coach, as a parent or caregiver…etc.). Check it out!
Hey everyone, as part of our “Have Your Say” series letting you know about opportunities to get involved (and self-advocate!) in your community — check out this opportunity to weigh in on the design of Ballou Park upgrades, and this opportunity to stay connected to ongoing City projects that impact YOU, including the Abbott Street active transportation corridor. Get involved!

Hey everyone, we usually send out an annual feedback survey that we had to postpone last year due to the impact of COVID-19.
We know there will be a time to look back on our COVID-19 experience and ask, “How did we do…” and, “What could we do better…” (and we will!). For now, if you can weigh in on one short question that will help us understand your experience so far, it would be really helpful to us.
While we recognize that we have not had a “typical” year of supports and services, we think it’s still important to check in with you.
You can click here to be taken to the question page. Thanks!
